We get on board the smorgasboard

We visit the big food hall to stock up on comestibles for the rest of our journeys.







Today we have lunch at the famous(apparently) Schonnemann restaurant in Copenhagen. This joint specialises in smorrebrod lunches; they also specialises in Aktavit, a Danish firewater which comes in a 173 varieties. So the way it works is that the sandwiches are elaborate concoctions sitting on top of slices of dark bread; try eating one of these bad boys,Earl of Sandwich, while playing cards!
These sandwiches are accompanied by sips of aktavit and large mouthfuls of beer; this is all done at lunch time, before returning to work. Of course we are not interested in all this dishonest foreign muck and ask for a vegemite and kraft slice saga on wonder white;

we are met by blank looks all around so we end up with all the fancy Scandanavian gear, which turns out to be OK.






Go together like a horse and carriage

At last a decent coffee!
